Day 16: Less than 1000 miles to the Marquesas!

Marquesas, French Polynesia: 958 nautical miles
La Cruz, Mexico: 1759 nautical miles

We are 2/3rds of the way! Cyrille asks nearly everyday “Are we there yet?”. Now I can finally say “nearly!”

Still in the Doldrums, dealing with fickle winds and rain squalls. We were heading due south to cut through the Doldrums as quick as possible, but today I changed course to 225 degrees for Nuku Hiva, Marquesas!

Looking forward to getting into the South east trades. The GRIB files are showing a big calm patch all the way to 5 degrees south before we hit the south east trades. Hopefully they are wrong!

Alas, no fishy today 🙁
